I found out that the height limit is 40 inches. When does a child typically surpass the limit? My DS is approximately 36 inches tall at 2. Where is a toddler's head supposed to hit on the seat? I think he's outgrowing this seat but I'm not sure. Thanks!

I believe its when the middle of the ears are even with the top of the seat shell.

My 2 year old is 37" and she's no where near outgrowing it - BUT she's all leg, so it really depends on where your child carries their height! :)

If your son RF or FF? What harness level is he on and where are his shoulders in relation to it?

DS is 41" (99th percentile) and has not yet outgrown his RA, but probably will in the next several months. He's long everywhere, as you know, but especially in the legs!

Colin is much taller than Braden so I guess this seat will work for some time. Is Colin's head above the top of the seat? Part of Braden's head sticks out over the top which doesn't seem right to me. We need a second carseat for my mom's car so I think we'll give her the Roundabout and get a Marathon.

check out http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/ & you can follow his height on the growth chart. Most kids tend to follow the same percentile *for the most part* so this can give you a rough idea of how tall he'll be in the future.
