Question about New Sung Rides

My sister just received a Snug Ride in Blackwell yesterday at her shower but it's the version that goes to 20 lbs and 26 inches. It's from BRU. What's the easiest way to get the newer version. The seat is now in NJ but traveling to NC next weekend. She has an appt to have it installed on Aug. 4th so needs the new seat before then.

I also would like to know if the bases have changed since 2003? I have an extra base from our Snug Ride that she would like to use in her DH's car.

I don't know about the bases, but the new snugrides are hard to come by. Some people have been able to find them at BRU or Walmart, etc. But I think it depends on your location. I think they don't want to put the new ones on the shelves until they sell the old ones. I know that the babycenter store at babycenter.com has the new ones, but only for the ones with the gracopedic foam. I think they sell for $150 and have free shipping.
