View Full Version : Have a 2 yr old in a RA, baby on the way - Should I buy a MA while they're cheap?

I just read about internet retailers being required to sell at MSRP. That adds about $90 onto the price of a MA, doesn't it?

DS is still RF but we're going to turn him around this week (wish we didn't have to). Should I go ahead and buy the MA? The new baby arrives late Feb and DS turns 3 a few months later, so I would likely put the baby in the RA at 6ish months, and move DS to the MA at that time.

Just wondering if it's wise to buy a seat I won't use for a year in order to save the money.

If getting the MA would help to keep DS RF then I would buy it. (You didn't say why you were turning DS FF so I am assuming is because your current seat weight limit RF???)

If not then I would wait?

Yes, DS just hit 30 lbs. I think the MA would only get us another 3 lbs, unfortunately, so it looks like it's FF time. :(

You probably have longer than you think. I remember thinking the exact same thing but then DD stuck at 30-31 pounds for EVER (from under 2 years to nearly 3 years). I was shocked how long she hovered there! Regardless, if you want an MA, its a great choice. Your new baby will use it too when the oldest outgrows it completely. I thought you could still get them for around $200 (see threads below), but if not they are $249. Looks like www.babyage.com still has them for $194??
