Evenflo Vanguard is it good?

One of the women in my Mommy Group has offered to give me her used but never in an accident Evenflo Vanguard 5pt Harness w/o shield. It is rather new, it was her 2nd carseat and they just never needed it. However I don't know anything about it and can't find any info either? Should I take it?

Hi Lee, me again; DD is napping and I'm bored :)
The Vanguard/ Titan (same seat with different names depending on where you buy it)actually got the highest rating on the latest consumer reports test. I say if it's free and in good condition/ you trust the person giving it to you AND they can show you how to properly install and use it, go for it. If you like it great, if not at least you didn't spend money on a seat you don't like and will have a better idea of what to shop for in the next seat.

It got a good rating because it is cheap ;).
It's pretty hard to use properly, but free is free, so go for it...maybe we can walk you through using it properly.
