I purchased a RA in 3/05 that was mfd in late 2004. What is the height limit for rf? I purchased it b/c I thought my DD would be able to be rf in it longer than other seats, since it's up to 33 lbs. I just saw in One Step Ahead catalog that RA said can be rf til 33 lbs or 27 inches! My DD is 30.5 inches at one year. Do I need to turn her around? The Britax site says 33 lbs, but then says that some now have height limits, refer to owners manual. My manual only mentions height (40 in) for ff. Should I turn my DD ff?

Recheck your manual. You can turn infants around to FF as long as they are 22 pounds and 1 year old. I don't think there is a height requirement. It can't say 40 inches for ff; My 4 yo isn't even 40 inches.

Never trust retailers for the truth about any product ;) Your manual very likely says you can use it till the tops of the ears are even with the top of the seatback, like Kendra here http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/RFAlbum/Kendra.aspx

Is there any difference in height for the RA vs. Marathon? I know there are lots of kids in marathons rf, but is that the same for rf in RA's? I'd like to keep her rf in the RA as long as possible, hopefully 33lbs, then have her ff til 40 lbs, then move on to a different carseat, possibly the Marathon. But even the Britax site now says that they sometimes have height maximums now. I'm concerned that they're now figuring out that maybe there should be a height max for rf, but that they didn't figure it out til after my manual was printed.

When I'm talking about height, it's the max height that I'm worried about. I thought they could stay rf til 33 lbs, then ff til 40 lbs. But, I've now read that it should be no more than 27 inches for rf and no more than 40 inches for ff. I'm hoping to keep my DD rf til 33 lbs. If there's a 27 inch max for rf, I'd need to turn her ff already:(

No, I promise, they haven't changed it. If your dd is really skinny and you want to keep her rearfacing, get her a Marathon as she begins to get too tall for the RA (like the picture in my sig of my dd at 41 inches rearfacing). The most important thing is that the head is protected from whiplash injuries, and Britax knows that...they only put a height limit anywhere in their manuals because the government forces them to.
