Our two year old is in a MA, and the 9 mo is overdue to leave her Snugride. We aren't sure if we should buy a combo seat for the older child (five point harness now, booster when she's bigger) and put the baby in the MA, or a "youth seat" for the 2yr old, or keep her where she is and buy another convertible for the baby, or...

We are planning on having a third, so we were hoping to purchase something with a narrow footprint if possible, but safety is obviously the top concern. We've liked the MA, and read good things about Britax, but would consider something else.

Thanks!

I'd probably go with another Marathon... she's probably very comfy in it, you are comfortable using it, and she could sit in it 3+ more years, easily... Unless you want to look at the Recaro Young Sport.. it harnesses to 40 pounds, has top slots at least as tall as the Marathon, and converts to a really nice booster... here're pictures from a mom who was about the first one to buy it, and was wonderful enough to share her review with us http://uccomama-ivil.tripod.com/id14.html.
The Graco Platinum Cargo is also a decent choice, but not great as a booster, and not *quite* the quality you may be used to (though not bad...I'm just warning you ;).
Maybe you don't want to worry too much about the three across situation just yet.. there's new seats on the horizon that should be out and well-reviewed by the time you are ready for kiddo #3.
