I am just not sure how to tell if they have outgrown the MA? My son is 3.5 years and has a long torso...we just moved his strapes to the top. His head is getting very close to the top? Is it the same as the infant seat...no more than an inch and get a new seat????
I may have to carpool a 4 year old and was wondering if she would fit in the MA also?...so I really need to know! Thanks again!

Thank you?

Laura

You have till his shoulders are consistently *just* above the top slots. I moved my dd's straps to the top slots almost 2 years ago, and she's still below them sometimes, so not outgrown the seat at all. And for the head, it's when the tops of the ears are even with the top of the seat. For most kids, that's about 46-50 inches, so you probably have at least a year and a half to go before he's too big. And I haven't seen a 4 yo girl yet who can't fit in the MA, so you should be fine putting her in it :)
This is my dd 6 months ago...sitting up REALLY straight (in a size six t shirt).. she's still not too tall for her seat now http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/FFAlbum/Sarah.aspx

I agree with Julie. My dd who turned 6 in Aug and still sits in the MA. My 4 yrs old ds is a tall and long-torso guy, but still can in the MA. Here are some pictures of them in the MA... http://photobucket.com/albums/v499/Oakvillemoms/Carseats/

The pictures were taken about 4 months ago but the harness is still above their shoulders.

I think you'll be okay with a 4 yrs old.
