My DH and DD were in a car accident today. Everyone is fine, but I now have to buy a new carseat ASAP. I had a Britax Galaxy, and we have a RA for our other car. Love them! Of course dd is almost 3 and closing on 40" (she might even be there)So I am going to buy a bigger seat. My first thought was a Husky, I can't wait for the Regents to come out. I am using a friend's car seat that has a drink holder and a snack? cubby. DD always loves to use the drink holder. Is there a seat that is almost as good as a Britax that has a drink holder or can I buy that separately somewhere and attach it to a Britax? We drive 30 to 45 minutes each way to work and so my dd's comfort is the most important thing to me. My friend's seat is I think a Comfort Sport, it was cheap and has no padding, but works. (and I am grateful!)Any thoughts would be appreciated. Money is not really an object because the insurance will cover all or most cost.

I like the sunshine kids side rider http://www.kidsurplus.com/sun10220.html It clips on with heavy-duty metal suspender clips to the outside of the Marathon, at least...not sure about the Husky.
How heavy is Katie? Maybe you'd like the Recaro Young Sport, too? It's super new and super nice...harnesses to 40 pounds, but has really tall top slots, and makes a good booster (unlike most combo seats... you'd really be trading quality to get a cupholder..not that Gracos or Evenflos are bad, but they just aren't high quality...).
I stopped using my side rider when I found it kept getting left full of juice and crumbs and yucky stuff, anyway ;)

DD is 39" tall and weighs 31 lbs. The Recaro YS looks really nice for older kids, but will it be comfy to take a nap in for my 3 yr old? I can't seem to find a Husky or a Regent in my area to see if it fits in the back of my Nissan Pathfinder.

As for the cup holder, dd is very tidy :) We only use sippy cups in the car.

Just something to consider....Britax offers a car seat exchange for seats involved in a crash...

I think the YS would be very comfy for sleeping in . See this photo of my DS fast asleep in his (no complaints!). It also has a recline feature, you just turn a knob on the side of the seat at the bottom.

Sorry it is such a bad photo, my camera has seen better days.

I have the side riders (I got them from One Step Ahead) and they are great. I attached one to each side of dd's marathon and now she has a place for all her "stuff". It fits sippy cups and much more.
