Do I have to use the infant insert in the PP Viaggio? It's so plasticky and scratchy that I'd rather not unless it's required. Does anyone know?

I don't think it's required. It's not required on the Snugride or other models.

You can use rolled up receiving blankets instead.

Ooops, I asked a friend of mine who works with carseat.org and has all the manuals sitting on her desk, and when she said, "nope, it's not required" I put it out of my mental inbox and forgot to respond!
