DS is 2 months old, weighs 14lbs 8oz and is 25 inches tall. So he's about one inch away from out growing his Snugride. What carseat is next for him? We have a Stratus and an Accord. TIA!

You may have a little while in the SR still. While the height is a guideline as long as your DS stays below 20# and has atleast an inch of shell above his head he is ok in the SR. As for the next seat you will want a convertible, he is safest rear facing and Academy of Peditrics recommends rear facing as long as possible. Personally I like the Britax seats, either the Marathon/Decathlon/Wizard/Boulevard or the Roundabout. They all have a rearfacing weight limit of 33# but the first four have a higher shell which tends to allow kids to rf longer. And a ff weight limit of 65# while most only go to 40# so it is possible your child may fit in it until he is 4-6 yrs old. Britax also is the only manufacturer that allows tethering when the seat is rear facing.

If Britax is out of your price range, and it can be as their seats are $200+ There are other more reasonably priced seats. Cosco Scenera/Touriva can be found at Walmart for as little as $40 and has a rear facing limit of 35#, it tends to be fairly easy to install as well. More mid priced seats can be found as well but the best seat is one that you will use correctly every time, fits your child and can be installed well.

I hope this gives you a start.
