I'm still obsessing over this choice and was hoping you'd all help me out by answering this poll. I'm looking for the best seat that will also last long for my TALL thin 2yo. It's for Grandmas car, I want something reasonably priced (in the range of $100). I think I've narrowed it down to the Graco Platinum Cargo or the Cosco Apex65. Which would you choose in my situation and why(I'll check the height of the car seat backs before purchasing an Apex).
Thanks for your input.

Thanks for pointing out the lack of info Julie, I posted a long msg in the title of the poll and it was all erase, I guess it needed to be in the msg itself, not in the title, oops. I edited it now to add that info, thanks.

Ah, righto... (and oddly, someone decided convertible seats are the 5-40 pound ones, rf to ff, but "Combo" or "Combination" or "Harnessed Boosters" are the ones that go from 20-100, just fyi).

Anyway...hmmm...... toughie.... I think I'd be more tempted to go with the Apex as long as the car has tall seatbacks (the easiest way to figure that out? Ask grandma if the headrests go up and down in her back seat. If they are fixed, the seat will still be good till age 6 or so, but if they move up and down, it'll last till age 9). Of course, she might get a new car before then... ah, so many variables!!!!
I like the Apex as a booster better than the Cargo, though...

Ok, Julie, I'll put you on the spot. :-) Are the headrests considered part of the seatback for the Apex?

I asked a couple times, but nobody seemed to know. The picture in the manual that was posted showed a seat without a headrest. If we can't lay our hands on a Scenara, I was considering a Cargo, but might go with the Apex if the headrest counts.

Yup...if a headrest is good enough for a big ol' grownup head, they are fine 'back up support' for a kid's head in an Apex (don't EVEN go to www.iihs.org and find out how abysmally unprotective most headrests actually are, though... it makes me cry to know my Odyssey is doing so little to protect my precious noggin and cervical spine :P )
