Ok I just tried to explain this to a Britax tech who could not understand what I was talking about...maybe you all can help??

I just recvd our new 2005 MA in Cowmooflauge(LOVE IT!- so soft!!) and am installing FF in a 2004 Honda Odyssey. Easy right? Well my latch straps seem to be mixed up- the one on the left should be on the right and vise versa. I can not hook the latch with the connector (big side up) without twisting the straps - then when you pull to tighten it cant tighten very far bc the twisting goes into the device and will not pull straight. Can anyone see what I am talking about from these pics and tell me what I am doing wrong? I can not see a way to switch them - they seem factory installed.

Thanks and hope this makes sense.

Jo

I should mention in pics 3 and 4 - you can see the strap is untwisted and the part is upside down- the part they say UP with arrows is facing down.

If in the UP position, then strap is twisted....

thanks again!

That's exactly how mine are. I also checked the MAs at my BRU and they are the same way.

Thanks for replying Carrie - so do you have this twisting problem?

Congrats on your new little one!

If I'm understanding right (and I might be all wrong, lol), it sounds like you need to switch what sides they're on. Or are they upside down?? With ours, we had to slide each one over to the opposite side of the seat--the manual talks about having to do this if the one for the driver's side is on the passenger's side, and vice-versa.

I have a bad head cold, so forgive me if I totally misundertood ;-).

Page 21 of the manual explains it (unless they changed the page...either way, there's a page ;) )...you have to push the left strap to the right, and the right to the left, along the bar, pushing one through the other in the middle.
It comes set up for rearfacing, so you have to do this to make it FF compatible before you install it FF, basically.

Or just install it with the seatbelt, lol...but don't worry, it's not hard to switch, just sort of a pain.

Hey, you too! Man, the abomination of bad child transport living next to me makes me want to scream sometimes, and they never ask me for advice :P

At least the RA just has to be in the right belt path...it's so much easier than the MA.
