I just got a RA from Target.com. The color is great (Jefferson Tan). The material is very soft and fleecy. But I was expecting more of a corduroy type material. We live in the Phoenix area and it gets very hot here. I would hate to sit on this in the summer... But we have it now, so we'll have to put a receiving blanket under his little legs when he's wearing shorts.

But I'm in the market for several more Britaxs. How can I know how the fabrics feel? They don't seem to mention that in any of the descriptions. My old and ugly but much loved and still used Fisher Price Safe Embrace is soft and smooth and perfect for our weather.

www.britaxusa.com tells you what the fabric content of each cover is.

Or you could ask here first.

Well, I think I'll ask here since the Britax says only says most of them are 100% polyester, not how they FEEL. (sigh) They say the Jefferson Tan is corduroy but it's not! The denim ones are 100% cotton.

How does the Ashley Floral feel, the Brownstone, the Allstar, the Granite?

Those all feel the same as jeff tan, but granite and brownstone are more 'nubby'...they are soft, but textured, in a way. My friend in Phoenix (actually Ajo, which is supposedly hotter? ick...) anyway, she likes the (funky) denim covers, which are 100% cotton, and even that freedom, which is smooth like the FPSE. I really don't think Jeff Tan is going to be too hot, though, since it's a lighter shade and not a deep pile.

Britax used to have smoother covers, but they don't hold up as well through washing, so I think they moved more towards the velour....
