Just curious...is it ok to put a booster seat in the front seat of a car that doesn't have airbags (a 1986 Honda Civic)? The back seat only has lap belts, so a belt-positioning booster definitely can't be used. Any thoughts?

IMO, it's better than lap only belts in back (statistically, it's a wash... lapbelts in back are 'about as safe' as a booster up front, surprisingly)...but I try to discourage kids from ever being in lapbelts. If it's ever an issue, please put an adult in the back with the lap only belt, because adults have much smaller heads and much larger hips, and the risk of seatbelt syndrome (crushed insides...ruptured bladders and spleens and stuff) is much lower for adults than kids.

Darn reliable Hondas, lol... too bad they outlive their own safety systems!
