Hi,
I have a friend that will be having a baby in about 3 weeks and needs a new infant seat. I would like to find her a good deal on a Snugride2, since I don't like the Cosco seats and some of the Evenflo's can't be used w/o a base. Her babies have bother beev over 8 lb at birth. My other option is to talk her into just getting a Roundabout, but she may want an infant seat and may have another baby within two years. There should be plenty of room in her Caravan for any seat. She will have a 4 yr old (Turbobooster) in the third row and a 2 1/2 yr old (Chase, I think) in middle bench with the new baby.
She's not the most car seat savvy, but I did talk to her and the next week she took her 2 1/2 yr old out of a garage sale convertable seat, put her in her 4 yr old's combo seat, and bought the 4 yr old (about 34 lb) a Turbo booster.
So , any good deals now?
Thanks

Does it have a front adjustor? The cheapest Snugrides are usually the hardest ones to use (like the ones with a back adjustor), or it could be an old one that only goes to 20lbs and 26", giving her a lot less use for her money.

I thought the "2" in "Snugride2" meant that it went up to the higher weight limit? According to the website this seat only goes to 22lbs and 29 inches. Bummer, I got all excited there for a minute. Also, my SIL had an Evenflo w/rear harness adjuster and I never could figure it out, I find the front adjuster so much easier to use. Thanks for the link though!

Those are the higher infant seat limits (the old ones were 20lbs and 26"). But I wouldn't go for a rear adjustor either - too much headache!!

So, this link is to a Snugride model sold at walmart, and it has the rear-adjusting straps, right? I just wanted to clarify.

If anyone lives in Maryland, the Great Beginnings store has one snugride (older model, with 26 inch and 20 lb limits, and rear-adjusting straps), for 59.99.
