Not exactly sure where this goes, so I'm posting in the lounge. Where can I find a durable bag that can be used to carry the Marathon Car Seat when we're traveling?

ETA: We need to check it in as luggage.

TIA!

Eileen

Eileen-
I love this thing. I first borrowed it from a friend after making the mistake of dragging my MA through an airport with no bag. You can bring it to the gate and gate check it for added saftey (less damage to carseat?). I thought it was so great that I bought on for us to keep. I got it in Buy Buy Baby, but it's also online at amazon:

Safefit Cover n Carry: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000789TK/002-8173097-2408829?v=glance

I think I've posted about it in the carseat forum. Happy travels!

I've got the same SafeFit cover. Just purchased it a few weeks ago to use for a trip to Florida. The cover was fine. We got this one since it has the wheels and also the straps to carry it backpack style if you want to.

I'm not sure about the bag, but if at all possible, gate-check the car seat. You have a much better chance of it showing up at the other end undamaged that way. Also, if there is an empty seat, you can use it on the plane.

I cannot believe I am admitting this, but, here it goes:
I did not want to spend the money on a new car seat carrier, I was too late to buy a used one, and I used (blush!) a big, sturdy garbage bag. And it made it accros the pond on two flights checked as luggage just fine :) Ok, now I will go forget I admited this...LOL

We got a cover a year plus back from Babyuniverse.com (i think). The brand is JL Childress and it has worked really well so far.

Actually, that's what we did...at least the last time we had to check it. We didn't this time because as it turned out, we actually got an extra seat! And on the 27th of December, too! Woo hoo! :)

We discussed it and decided the garbage bag route would work because DD is going to be 2 soon and we will always have to buy her a seat anyway, so we'll probably put off the decision until the next baby. :)

I also have the JL Childress cover. I think it is calles "The Ultimate" something. It was pricey (about $40), but it has taken a beating, my DH carries it as a backpack and it is nicely padded, and we have a little extra room for stowing extra toys, jackets, or other misc. items that we want to check at the last minute. It has been on at least 8 flights (most with plane changes) and is holding up!! No tears or even loose threads.
