infant seat expiration date

I have an Evenflo On My Way Position Right V infant seat with a manufacture date of March 26, 2001. We're planning to have another baby next year (2006) and I was wondering if it will still be safe to use. If it's not, or even questionable, I have no problem buying a new infant seat. Thank you for all of your help!

Car seats usually expire 5-6 years after manufacture. You might want to double check with Evenflo.

Also, talk to Evenflo about whether the seat has been recalled.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I had been trying to get through to them by phone, and after being put on endless (20-30 minutes...endless when you have kids!!!) hold, decided to email them. I emailed Evenflo yesterday and got a response today. They recommend a 6 year life span from date of manufacture, so I guess I'm still safe. Thanks again for all of your help!
