I currently use one under DS Marathon. It is the Graco brand and is a very thin material, but has saved our seats so far. I have no problem getting a snug fit. We just bought a new car and I was shopping for another one to put under our snugride when our baby is born in January. As long as I get a thin one and the fit is snug, are they safe to use? TIA.

If you must use one, make it as thin as possible.

I think Julie always recommends the Prince Lionheart ORIGINAL, which is getting harder and harder to find.

Is a thin towel OK?

My local tech had no problem with mine- it's no thicker than the shelf liner that is commonly used to install.

A towel is not ideal. You want something that will not slip.

Like Debbie said, only if it doesn't slip. Towels listed in lots of manuals as ok (they are probably better on cloth than leather seats...)
