Using a Snuzzler in the Chicco Keyfit for newborn?

I received my Chicco KF and love everything about it...except for the feel of the fabric. Even the newborn padding is a little rough. I was thinking of taking out the newborn padding and simply using a Snuzzler (BRU has a Velboa one that is so incredibly soft). Is this safe? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

You should never use anything between the seat and baby or the baby and the seat that is not approved by the manufacturer. A snuzzler was not crash tested by Chicco to be used with their seat, so if you were in an accident you could void the warranty.
