Replacing covers on infant seats...

Is it considered safe to replace the cover on a Graco snugride (3 yrs old) with one made by another company (like a brocade one etc)?

You should not replace your seat cover with one made by someone else. The covers are flame retardant. Also using an aftermarket cover will void your warrenty in the event of an accident. Graco has LOTS of cute covers these days.

You may want to consider a new SnugRide since the new ones go to 22 pounds and 29 inches so you would get more use out of it. Most of the seats now come with a front harness adjuster which really makes the seat a lot easier to use as well.
