DD (9 years old) would like to sit in a no back booster. She's currently in a Graco Turbo hbb. We have a Sienna LE-8 w/ side air bags. How safe is a nbb and any recommendations?
Thanks!

They are as safe as your car. Funny way to say it, but really, take your highly rated, side airbag containing, uber-safe minivan, and you don't really *need* any extra protection for her. In a lower car with poorer side impact ratings and/or no headrests and/or no side impact airbags, you really want to add all the extra protection you possibly can for as long as you can.
I don't mind letting my kids ride in NBB's in dh's Side impact airbag containing Ford Escape, but I still insist on harnessing or HBB's in my Honda.
Oh, of course if she happens to still be a big car-sleeper, maybe a HBB is a good idea...you of course don't want her leaning on the window taking a nap where the airbag would deploy onto the top of her head! (I'm sure that's not really an issue, but thought I'd mention it for the lurkers ;) )
