I just wanted to say the video that was posted by murphydog in the other post about RF install was SUPER helpful. I tried and tried to get the Scenera installed in my dad's Oldsmobile a few days ago and it was just not tight enough (to my liking). I watched the video, got my dad to drive over and got the seat installed rock solid! Thank you all for all the wonderful things you do to make sure our kids are safer everyday on the roads!

Cool!!!! It's nice to know that what works for me works for someone else too. I try to teach that technique to the nursing students we have at our car seat checkup events and they look at me like I have 2 heads, lol. They just don't believe me :).

It's taken me two days to download the media player to watch it, and I still have to restart my puter to see it, but since I know it works, get ready for me to refer people to it a zillion times a day.

Thanks for doing this, Heather! You totally rock!

Heather - That is the same technique that the carseat tech at the hospital used to install my MA and RA, except that we don't have a van, which makes it a little more challenging. It made so much sense when she showed me how - pushing the seat toward the back of the car and down. It's much easier to do that to a RF seat than the knee trick! Great videos!!

I couldn't find the link and it was driving me crazy! I finally found it so here it is for anyone else who hadn't seen it or wants to see it again!

Quote from Heather:
Hi. Take a look at these videos and see if they help answer your questions: http://www.carseatsite.com/videos.htm . If you are installing the seat with the LATCH connectors on the seat, watch the LATCH video. If you are installing the seat with the seat belt, watch the seat belt video. The seat that's being installed is a Cosco Touriva, which is what the Scenera replaced (essentially the same seat). Since the seat is being installed in a Sienna, it won't be the same as in an Outback, but it should be a similar installation.

***Taking off the seat cover on one side and pulling the latch strap up through the hole in the seat (like in the video) made all the difference for me! I was finally able to get my Scenera tight enough RF!

Heather definitely deserves a lot of thanks... cause most of us had to figure out these tricks the hard way over the years... she's giving away these tricks for free!!

I meant to comment on the video before but I 'lost' the thread!!! It is FANTASTIC! It shows you just how easy it is to get a rock solid install without attempting to climb into the seat- first time moms should be shown this during prenatal classes!
