Hello,
I could use some advice on whether or not to take our Marathon or buy a Scenera for use on flights & in a rental car. We don't travel much, but we have a third vehicle in which we could put the Scenera. My DH will be with us, so lugging the Marathon is doable, but we will be taking the carseat in & out of various vehicles (relatives' & rental car). DS falls asleep easily in the Marathon & we don't have much time to buy & test out his comfort in the Scenera. Any thoughts?
TIA,

I've been thinking about this exact same question! When we fly this summer, DD will likely be in a MA at home, but grandparents have a Scenara for her that we could take if we wanted. I'm thinking in your situation, you are probably more comfortable/experienced installing the MA (since you'll have to do it several times on your trip) and since you know your DS likes it, I'd take the MA.

I would be interested to hear other's opinions/experiences though!

We use our Touriva in DH's car, so I had practiced installing it before we traveled. However, DH and I are both very happy that we got the Touriva for travel. Even when he was with me, it was a real pain to lug our MA around and very awkward when getting on and off the plane due to its size (trying not to bump anyone going down the aisles. However, my DH has shoulder (and various other) issues, so the less weight he has to carry, the better for us.

My DS has never had an issue with falling asleep in his Touriva even though it's not as nicely padded, and I can actually get it installed faster than my Marathon, with LATCH or the seatbelt, with the exception of the tether which is a pain to adjust (I think the Scenera is better, though!)

Since I travel by myself sometimes as well, I have been very glad to have the Touriva because I KNOW I would not be able to carry DS, diaper bag and Marathon onto the plane by myself (and I have had very bad luck with getting any help from flight attendants.)
