We have a 2003 Lincoln Aviator with bucket seats in the 2nd row. There is no center seat, which is a pain, especially since the center is the safest place for a infant/toddler seat. Since we have no choice but to put the seat on one of the sides, does anyone have any knowledge of or recommendatons for which side is better (behind driver or passenger)?

Hi. One side isn't really safer than the other. I'd go with what's more convenient for you. I have a van and when I had just one child, I kept him behind me because it was more convenient for me to get him in and out from the same side I was on. Some parents like to be able to see their kids and hand things back, but I couldn't reach him on the other side.
