Is there any difference in the 2005 and 2006 models besides fabric choices? Just curious. I just got a great deal on a brand new one on ebay...I'm so excited...it is a 2005. My 5 month old will probably outgrow his Graco Snugride in the next month.

Thanks!

I hope you didn't get 'too' great a deal, there's a guy scamming people selling BV's that don't actually exist :P.

Anyway, nope, no difference, just a slightly shorter lifespan: You can use it for exactly 6 years from the date of manufacture.

No, I believe I wrote that guy and he said he would sell me one for $250. It just felt fishy to me. I got a better deal from someone (probably a store) that sells a bunch of them and has great feedback. They also have a phone number you can call them at. Plus, I paid with credit card, so I can always reverse the charge if I never get it. :-)

So, exactly why can you only use it for 6 years from the manufacture date? Does this go for all car seats or does it vary from manufacturer to manufacturer? Maybe I'll get lucky and it will have been manufactured at the end of 2005!

Thanks for responding!

Oh good, glad you bought from a reputable seller :D
Yeah, all seats have 'expiration dates' mostly they are 6 years...plastics break down, mostly, and seats fail to perform as well. Also there are always upgrades in seats just to follow the government standards (airbag warnings being required, LATCH connectors, side impact testing, that sort of thing....). And yup, even seats that have 'older' cover options are sometimes brand spanking new when you buy them on sale, so there's hope of getting one practically new.
