Washing car seat fabric?

Does anyone here know if I can remove the fabric on my Graco comfortsport to wash it? It's looking pretty grungy now thats it's been used almost daily for the last 18 months or so. I can't find my manual to look it up.

It's the dark navy checked fabric with the leather inserts on the sides. I was thinking washing it on delicate in cold water and then air drying? Anyone here tried it before?

www.gracobaby.com has all the manuals for all the seats you can read online, but I would *guess* that the gentlest setting to wash with a dollop of Tide is fine, and hang to dry or air-fluff dry would be ok (heat can damage the elastic in the cover...). But do verify that in the manual, of course, they may say hand wash only...
