Who is Eddie Bauer and why is his name on all this baby stuff? I think it started with vehicles but why is there all this baby stuff named after him? Is there an Eddie Bauer?

Yes, Eddie Bauer was a real person. He started a outdoor clothing/gear line of stuff way back when and it evolved into a retail chain and catalog. It's kind of like a cross between Lands End and Gap I guess? I can see the connection between wanting to name a SUV after a sporting wear related company, but the baby stuff gets me.

I think it's cause dorel/cosco knows that dads and others who are into the Eddie Bauer name thought it would add credibility and class to their products.

Sadly, for me, all it has done is lower my opinion of anything Eddie Bauer.

My friends and I refer to the Eddie Bauer branded baby items using the same initials, E.B., as in costing "Extra Bucks." IMO it's clever marketing without any real added value to the carseats.
