I just noticed that there are two trim levels for this seat (well 3 if you count the one with the overhead bar).

Anyhow, Target carries this one for $40 in the store:

While TRU carries this one for $60:

My question is: Is it worth 50% more to get the DLX model?

I would say no. The people who have seen it say it is not more padded. The only difference is the infant head pad and once your child is past the infant stage, you wouldn't need it anyway! I have the Target Scenera and am very satisfied with it. Whichever one you get, be sure to see Heather's video for installation tips!

I haven't seen the TRU one. But, I'm perfectly happy with my Walmart one. Its black and tan. My DD is more than old enough to complain if it wasn't as comfy as her MA, and she never has. ;)

We have the TRU version and it is definitely not worth the extra cost. I really don't think it has any more padding than the other versions. In addition, we have found the infant headrest to be very poorly designed. Whenever our 3-month old moves his head, the headrest slides down between the back of his head and the seat so that his head is tilted forward in a very awkward way. Unfortunately, I realized this on our first trip out with the seat. I pulled over to remove it and was so mad when I realized that it did not attach with snaps and that I had to unthread the harness straps just to remove it. What a pain!

I'd recommend that you just go with the Target or Wal-mart versions.

I should add that we do love our Scenera - and our Regal Ride.
