We bought our daughter a Britax BodyGuard after seening a lot of excellent reviews on it. My only problem with the seat, even though it has the wings, is her poor head flops everywhere. Should I find another carseat or is there something else I can do?

How old is she?
There really is nothing you can do. But if she is sleeping in the car that often, you should put her in a harnessed seat. If she's asleep, she is slouching and not positioned right and not really protected in a crash. How much does she weigh?

Hi! She just turned 7 this past Jan. She weighs 40lbs, and is 47 1/2in. tall.

I'm confused. Are you saying that if her DD is sleeping in the car seat a lot, that's a bad thing? My DD sleeps in her Wizard, now Boulevard all the time. ??

I think the PP is saying that if the girl is sleeping alot in the car she should be in a harnessed seat versus a booster. A harnessed seat like your WZ and BV will keep a child in the correct position even when sleeping, a bpb will allow the child to move around and they might not be sitting correctly in the booster.

that's still small... and she'd be better protected in a harnessed seat, anyway.

are you using the built-in lockoffs of the bodyguard?

She'd do well in a Regent.... my 6yr old flopped horribly in his turbobooster, even sleeping with his head on his knees till we put him in the Regent... now he's so comfy.

We like the Parkway much better than the Bodyguard, because our shoulderbelts lock in our car and it's a lot easier to lock them onto the kids and then unbuckle them afterwards...locked belts help hold kids up a lot better sometimes (they tend to get completely attached to those bodyguard lockoffs and it's a huge hassle to deal with). Of course, if your shoulderbelts don't lock anyway, that won't help!
How about using the recline flap on the Bodyguard? It's a little panel on the back that pops out sort of and makes the back more reclined. Also, teaching her to put her head sideways, like put her forehead onto the headwing ("look out the window when you feel sleepy, honey") might work. But the Parkway also has bigger headwings for sleeping, too (if the free BG fixes don't work, lol). The Regent is terrific and the www.safeguardseat.com is also a great option (spendy, but it IS very tall and supportive, so worth mentioning).
