I just called my local Nissan dealership about the possibility of installing top tether anchors in my 98 Nissan Maxima. At first they had no clue what I was talking about. The guy had to find out and get back to me. He called me back later saying they couldn't because there's no hole to install the anchors. Has anyone successfully been able to install these? DS is still rear facing (16 mo old) but somewhere down the road, I'll need to turn him around but there's nowhere to tether the carseat up top. I have a Britax Marathon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Elizabeth

The information that I have says that the part number is 88894-89900 for both the center and outboard positions. There should be (3) 8 mm weld nuts in the rear filler panel. There's a note that you need to cut along the circles in the trim material. The tether anchor bracket should cost about $15.

HTH!
