View Full Version : Hmm, can I add velcro to straps?

We just got a Britax Wizard and a Sunshine Kids Radian for our 2 boys. We like both seats very much, but I'm having a heck of a time "accessing" the crotch straps to buckle the boys in. They seem much harder to get to than in our RA & Husky. Would it be unsafe to add a piece of velcro the the back side of the buckle & then to the bottom of the seat, so I could stick the strap out of the way while they climb in? Obviously the velcro couldn't go on the button side of the buckle, so I'd have to twist it once to velcro it down, but this just might make it easier to get them buckled in.

Thoughts?

to the buckle would be fine, but not to the strap... because that would be modifying it in a way that it hadn't been tested... plus, by sewing them on, you could damage the integrity of the straps.
for when the child IS in the seat, I'd just put the belly pad against the velcro, which is why I don't see it being a problem on the buckle.
