So, now that I'm in the market for a new booster as the airline lost our old one, has anyone played with this one? What did you think? I tend to like the Combi products, and there's a 25% off sale over at BRU on this one. Whatcha think?

Um... not my favorite....mine rattles funny (could just be mine?), and it holds slack in the shoulderbelt off my kiddos (could just be my car? Ford Escape), and the belt paths are paper thin and very difficult to get seatbelts routed into, my kids say the headrest isn't comfy (but my son warmed up to it after a bit, that was just his initial reaction), and it's not as tall as the Parkway. I'll send you mine for the price of shipping, if you want it (I know we have different opinions of the Avatar, so hey, you might love the Kobuk?). It can be dismantled and used backless, that's a plus...

:)

Here's a comparison picture (scroll down a bit, the pic of the two boosters)... http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/joolstag/ see the little red slits on the side at the armrests? That's what the seatbelt has to go through...probably not SO bad if you have super-short buckle stalks, but not as simple as the Parkway with the giant gaps on the side for the belt to go through/on.

I thought the Kobuk was OK, too. Not great, but not bad, either. Mine also rattled, I discovered it was the height adjustment handle that had some play in it.

Julie,

Are the 1st 3 pictures Radians? If so, just wondering the size of the gorgeous models. Trying to figure out how much growing room room I might have for my crew. Also would love to know how comfy/cushie the seats are. We are trading up from our RAs. Thanks.

Well, short isn't a problem for me, I think I have the only kids on the planet to outgrow stuff by weight before height, lol. Thanks for the offer Julie, I may take you up on that! Lemme think on it some more.

The little gorgeous model was a couple weeks old, and the tall gorgeous model is now 6.5 and is still about half an inch under the top slots of the Radian...she outgrew the Marathon maybe 6 months ago (though they supposedly have the same top slot height? must be that the R is more upright...). The only comfort issue she has is that I took the harness pads off and the straps rub her neck when she's in summer shirts... I put them back on and she's fine. She says the seat part is comfy, and she likes she can rest her head on the sides (much better than the Husky for naps!). It's a solidly built seat (weighs more than a Marathon), and is very Britax-esque in it's quality (nice harness, similar adjuster, super duper chest clip, nice LATCH, decent top tether...)

LOL, yeah, the seat is widish and comfy-ish... definitely it has that nice air-flow fabric I like about the combis! It's just sitting in my shed with my second Husky for now :D
