Decathlon Hampton

Couple of questions if you can help please:

Is the Hampton pretty in real life? I am thinking of getting it for DS. I have only been able to see 1 inch square swatches of it but I think I would like it.

Also, is it retiring? I don't see it on the britax website but I haven't seen it for sale like the Tribeca and Oddessey. DS was 16 lbs 14 oz a week ago so I have some time in his infant carrier so I do not want to order yet because I want to get the best manufacturer date. But if I get a Hampton in a few months, will it be old because they don't make that fabric anymore? How does that work?

Also, DS has really chubby thighs and if he is anything like I was as a child, he will be into everything so I was planning on the decathlon for the adjustable crotch strap and push button adjuster. However with the tightening issues I have been reading about, should I just go with a Blvd or a Marathon?

Hi. I'll attach some pictures for you. My taste runs more toward cowmoo and purples, so I'm not such a fan of Hampton. It's very soft, though. I don't know if it's being discontinued, but it's been on sale so it probably is being sold off for the new covers to come in.

As for the crotch strap, I haven't paid too much attention to where the slot positions are, but I know in the end they aren't that much different from the Marathon/Boulevard. I'm sure someone else knows for sure and can answer. The tightening issues sure seem to happen in batches, so I don't know if it's a production problem, a design flaw, or possibly even an expectation problem with someone who's expecting a super smooth adjuster getting one that's not smooth. As with every seat, there have been documented problems, so . . .

Thanks for the pictures! I like CooMoo too but if I want the DC my choices sure are limited. I like the soft cover better than the others.

Where have you see it on sale? Anywhere on-line?
