View Full Version : Sell/Donate Infant Seat?

My DD is getting pretty big for her infant seat. She is only 4 months, but 16.5 lbs and I can hardly carry it. We bought a MA when Target had them on clearance, so we are going to start using that one. I don't know what I should do with the Companion though. It has only been used for 4 months and never been in an accident, but are people willing to buy a used carseat? Is there a way to donate it? I have seen used carseats on EBay and CL and I could always try and list them there, but is it worth it? What do others do with their gently used carseats?

Save it for the next baby? Hang on to it for the next 6 months in case you travel somewhere (it's a LOT easier to travel with than the Marathon, even if you don't carry it in and out of the car much). People buy plenty of used seats on ebay, so the moral dilemma is should you let them buy a seat that you at least know is safe and uncrashed? I vote yes. Or, find a local charity... there's probably a women's shelter that would be happy to have it (don't forget the manual!)

I sold my SnugRide on CL. I knew that it was in perfect condition and that it had never been in an accident, so I was glad that I could pass a deal on to someone. It was $90 new and we sold it for $60.
