I figured if anyone knew it would be you.
Last week at the ABC kids convention I was talking to them and they told me it was fire retardent as well as safety crash tested.
Would they really just say this?
Anyhow I bought some for the store and just want to be sure of the safety before I offer them for sale.
Thanks,
Tammy

Not Julie, but I can't imagine that they'd really be okay. They may have crash tested them, but in what car seat? Every one? I doubt it. And, it looks like one cover will fit a "standard" seat. What makes a seat standard? How do you know if the slots will be in line with the harness straps?

I just think it's a bad idea to sell these, even though they're cute. Too many people would use covers that don't fit well and unknowinly have problems.

Is it this one http://www.babybungalow.com/bubaincarsec.html
If so...wow, those are expensive, lol... cute, but definitely a warrantee killer (seat manuals are pretty clear this sort of thing isn't allowed).
Can you lobby some product maker to make a silk(y) shower cap style cover instead? ;)

Those are the ones.
I was turned on to them from a pg gf of mine who bought one for her Graco infant seat so when I was at the show I was clear that I would only purchase these if they are safe and was told they were.
My cost on these is also very expensive.I am hopeing they will take them back. Is there some sort of a letter I could copy and send to them in regards to the safety issue?
Thanks again

I'm sure you could contact Graco and they could send you something...or just print it up from their manuals (all online at www.gracobaby.com).

I'm sure they really believe they are safe... and flame retardency is good, but the long vertical slits can cause the cover to interfere, making them unsafe.

not to mention that Graco and other carseat companies usually put a warning right in the manual saying only to use covers, etc, parts that are made by them.
