We used this many times with both our Britax MA and SafeGuard seat. It's only convenient b/c we do tend to have a far walk in the airport so it's worth the hassle of unhooking+hooking at airport security, plus we've gotten quite fast at it with experience. If it's just a short walk, it's probably not worth the effort.

You have to make sure your carry-on suitcase handle can take the load of your carseat (+DC's weight, if you're using it as a stroller). We have a Samsonite and it's held up really well. Our Sam's Club suitcase handle is getting bent & harder to pull up & down. DD is too heavy to sit in the carseat as a stroller anymore.

It's great to have your hands free and have one less thing to worry about since your carry-on & carseat have essentially merged into one rolling mass. I haven't regretted purchasing it, esp. b/c we have a long walk to the gate at our home airport.

One more thing - if you're having your DC ride in the carseat while it's attached to the carry-on, depending on how tall you are & how high the base of your carseat is, you may have to walk stooping down so your DC's feet aren't dragging on the floor. You'll get what I mean about this when you examine the picture; that guy must be pretty short. A taller person would have more trouble.

So I am assuming you aren't or don't want to take a stroller with you? I always take my stroller just to be able to transport my carseat and carry my carry on bags through the airport..

I put my Marathon on top of the stroller.. Put my 4.5 daughter in put my bags in basket and hanging over stroller handle and away we go.. Then I check my stroller at the gate and take car seat on the plane! Oh my stroller is a Graco Metrolite.

Hope this helps.. That just looks like difficult to manuevre.. but if others are saying they use it and like it than it could be worth trying?

It's a great idea, but you can accomplish the same thing for less than $1.

Get a 2" or 3" ring from the hardware store or craft store

Wrap the latch & tether around the carry on, hook them to the ring, and tighten

Et Voila, car seat attached to rolling carry on :)

It worked well in the house, but I ended up not using it for our trip because we decided to use backpacks for carry on bags. But, I used the ring to attach the car seat to the stroller (a Volo) and it worked great. Very secure and very fast to do and undo through security.

That is a GREAT idea, nisi! And much, MUCH cheaper!

Excellent idea! I've put the car seat on with bungees, but this seems much easier! What section of the craft store are those rings in? I've got to pick one up for our thanksgiving trip!

Very Clever. I'll have to remember this.

We still take DS's stroller and I use a bungee cord through the RF belt path and then around the stroller handles. DS either rides in the stroller or walks. But we're getting to the point where we don't use the stroller much at our destination. This could be the answer to that problem for us.

Do you think that this would work w/ the Radian?

Thanks,
