DS has been dx with hydrocephalus and may have a tumor -- both may require repeat brain surgery -- he is getting close to needing a new seat (see other post) anyone have advice on seats for special needs?

How old/tall/heavy is he? Will he need a lot of support?

Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis is an industry leader in special needs transportation. You might give them a call to talk with them or to get a recommendation for someone in your area you can speak with. You can also search for a special needs tech near you.

I think the SafeSeat is a good choice at this point (see other post). Most special needs seats are either forward facing, or designed for a specific purpose such as a hip cast, but the Automotive Safety Program that lilycat88 mentioned is a great resource. Anything beyond a regular seat is going to be very expensive, so you want to make sure you will need it and try and get insurance payment for it.
