Baby Bjorn

My sister just gave me her baby bjorn to use (it is 4 years old). I remember reading somewhere that it may need an adjustment made to it or is it OK to use with my newborn as is?

I assume given the age that carrier was recalled. Check the CPSC's web site for details (www.cpsc.gov---you can search by recall). In short, contact Baby Bjorn and they will send you the modification necessary to make it safe for use with newborns.
