Anyone have the pleasure of testing both of these strollers? Please share your thoughts!

Yes, it's heavy, but it steers beautifully. The quality is excellent. I would be happy to answer specific questions if you have any.

Hi Deborah,

Glad to hear from someone who actually owns a PiXXel...I do have some questions if you don't mind:

1. What other strollers did you consider?
2. Is this your primary stroller? What do you use it for?
3. How is the folding action? How many steps? One-handed?
4. Besides the weight, are there any other regrets?
5. What age was your baby when you began using it? Does baby seem to like it?
6. Would you get this one again if you had to do it all over again?

I'm going to check them out at Heritage Baby next week when we drive down to San Diego to visit family.

Thanks so much for your time!!

>1. What other strollers did you consider?

Well, I am quite the stroller addict, so I wanted a Teutonia PiXXel, I have quite a few other strollers, so I didn't consider any others at the time.

>2. Is this your primary stroller? What do you use it for?

Yes and no! As I mentioned above I have several strollers (an Emmaljunga EC Sport -- my snow/mud/rain stroller; a Quinny Formula 3 -- my A/T, posing stroller (it's way cool!); an Aprica Escort Royale, but to be replaced by a Maclaren Techno on Monday -- my quick in and out, keep in the trunk stroller; and the PiXXel which I really do use as my everyday, shopping (love the generous basket) stroller. I also keep it in the trunk of my car (unless I decide to use one of my other strollers). I also have a Kiddy Board attached for my 4.5 year old to ride one. So it really is the stroller I use most of the time.

>3. How is the folding action? How many steps? One-handed?

It folds easily, but it requires two hands. Basically you pull up on two knobs, one of which needs to be turned and the stroller folds. I also recline the seat because it makes the stroller slimmer for getting in my trunk, but you don't need to.

>4. Besides the weight, are there any other regrets?

None what so ever! Even the weight isn't a big issue for me.

>5. What age was your baby when you began using it? Does
>baby seem to like it?

He was around 18 months (maybe a bit older). He loves it, but then again he is happy riding in any of the strollers I own!

>6. Would you get this one again if you had to do it all over
>again?

Absolutely! The PiXXel is an awesome stroller. It steers better than any other stroller I have ever owned, looks beautiful and is generally a superbly designed and high quality stroller. I can't recommend it enough!

Thanks so much Deborah!! I'm going to see the PiXXel IRL next week. What did you use before your son turned 18 months? Any particular reason why you waited until 18 mo. and not sooner? I wonder if the stroller will be a good transition from the infant car seat with Universal?

Thanks again for your thorough response!

Congratulations! Do you mind sharing how much you got the stroller for? I wonder if he has more to sell? Did you have a choice in color?

If you don't mind, I would really appreciate if you could answer the same questions Deborah answered about her PiXXel.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to hearing about it when you get it!

i got it for $300 including shipping
i was offered a choice of red or navy and I chose navy
i would assume that he still has the navy for sale

i also e-mailed someone else (name given by kidco) and he had a few bebecar raider a/t plus models in pewter and graphite
they were $299.95 plus shipping and included the matching diaper bag. His email is [email protected]

I'll let you know more when I receive it.

Well, I didn't start using it until he was 18 months because Teutonias have only just started to be imported into the US. I didn't know about them when he was a baby. Even if I had I wouldn't have gotten one. I prefer to carry (ie sling) my babies when they are little. It is much better for their development (IMO). I also have a DD who is just two years older than my DS, so when he was a baby, she still needed to ride in a stroller. I waited to get a double, so I "wore" DS and pushed DD. Oh I was on the wagon at the time, so I made do with a Peg Perego Pliko and a Baby Jogger Twinkle!

If I would have been in the market for a stroller when DS was a newborn and the Teutonia PiXXel was available, and I was into strollers I would have got it for sure! It's a great all round stroller.

Thanks Deborah, I'm going to take a serious look at both the PiXXel and the Bebecar Raider A/T.

On paper, the Raider seems to be the better value...approx. 12 lbs lighter and slightly cheaper than the PiXXel. But it's hard to ignore the great things I'm hearing about the PiXXel. I guess I have to just see for myself.
