I was using a Snap N Go Frame while my son was in his infant car seat, but now that he's moved up, I'd like to buy a light weight stroller. I got a "lightweight" stroller at my baby shower, but realize now that it weighs about 30 pounds and takes up my whole trunk.

I'm really liking the Maclarens, but they're so expensive. And I can't decide which Maclaren. The daytripper, triumph or quest. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference in the 3. Of course this is just from my online research, not from actually seeing them in person.

Well how old is the baby? Really i don't think the macs are suitable as the only stroller for i assume a 4-6mth old? As a 2nd stroller, quick trips and such a quest may work, since the 03 has more recline but really the techno and vogue are the most suitable out of the mac line for an under one child.

Ideally though for the babies comfort and your shopping ease, i would look at a mid-weight model..under 20lbs.

For instance the pliko by perego is an umbrella fold style at 16lbs, the inglesina zippy another umbrella fold and about 16lbs, the zooper z-street another umbrella fold..17lbs and finally a chicco 2002..umbrella fold and under 17lbs or so. All of these offer plush seats and good stable frames for shopping with.

I agree somewhat with Pamela. The higher end Macs are more appropriate for younger infants. Lola went from her Snap-n-Go to a Techno between 5 and 6 months of age. It was our only stroller at the time and though she seemed to hate it when actually bought it at 3 months, we had no problems later. You may want to find a Mac IRL and take your son for a spin before you buy, so you can see if he minds the incline of the seat bottom and if recline seems adequate.

As for price, what about buying a new 2002 model or a used Mac. I have a 2001 Techno and would highly recommend it. Someone else recently posted about buying a used Mistral. They are out there (and for a good price) if you look.

Here is the SWAP Board. Also, I believe you can get an additional 20% off 2002 Vogue at babystyle.com with this code: USA20. Even with the discount, you might be able to find cheaper.

I know there are a couple of never used Chicco 2002's for $50. It is a fantastic all-around stroller.
