Maclaren 2003 Twins - steering with one hand

I notice that the Maclaren 2003 twin models have only two handles instead of three which the 2002 models have.
How is the steering on the 2003 models and can you steer either the 2002 or 2003 with only one hand?

I was told at the Baby Faire at the MacLaren booth by the MacLaren representative that the middle handle was just for folding the stroller, not for pushing.
