I will need a lighter weight stroller for travel this summer. What we need is:
1. something that folds small (like an umbrella stroller)
2. has a basket
3. has a canopy
4. is light/er weight.
5. $100 or less. I'd have a hard time justifing more to DH.

What we have now is a Zooper Sport, which I love but takes up too much space with three suitcases in the trunk. DS will be 13-14 mo. old when we travel.

Any suggestions will be very welcome.

Thanks,
Elaine

There are lots of Maclarens on ebay... you could probably get by with a daytripper or quest! There are also a lot of gently used Pliko's that go for 100 or less on Ebay!

You might want to check out the Chicco London... on Babies R Us website.... there are a bunch of coupon codes out there right now... check the lounge board here on this website to get those codes! The price is around 80 bucks regularly so you can get a good deal!

Good Luck!

Does anyone know how much the London weighs?

Here is a link!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006C7ER/qid=1046281302/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-8660970-7181711?v=glance&s=baby

this is the red one... it also comes in blue!

I'd think it is probably 16 lbs or less.... says the shipping weight is 19 lbs.... I don't think this stroller is 19lbs though! I know someone just bought on with all those coupon codes.... maybe she will give a report when she gets it!

IF I ever get it! It's the only thing that hasn't shipped yet. It just keeps saying "shipping soon." I really hate amazon.

I agree - check out eBay for Macs and Plikos. You may also want to post your questions on the stroller board at Parent's Place. The ladies there are very helpful and really know their strollers. Let them know all of your requirements, including your budget, and they will come up with some suggestions for you. They were really helpful with my Chicco 2002 and Maclaren purchases.

I ordered the blue one and my account also says "shipping soon". It does list March 4 as the earliest delivery date. I'm not in a real hurry to get it since it'll be a while before we actually need it. I'll let you all know how I like it when it arrives, though!

Another options that fits all your requirements is the Inglesina Swift. We have had it for about 6 months and love it (we also have a Mac) it steers beautifully, is comfortable for Amira, and folds compactly and easily, and it retails new for around $100 (I got mine online for $95)and the quality is very good.

We have a Chicco London. Although not as small as a true umbrella, it does have the other features you want and it comes with a rain guard. I have no idea how much it weighs, but it is easy to lug in and out of the car. I did much research before choosing this stroller. I bought at BRU for about $80??

Good luck.
