I've read all of the posts on these two strollers. I would like an outdoor stroller for neighborhood walks on uneven sidewalks and on the boardwalk. I have a mall stroller so this would not be in and out of the car often. Price needs to be under $150. I've read lots of posts and these two strollers seem to fit my needs. Am I missing anything? Should I consider anything else in this price range??

Some questions:

Are the wheels the same on both?

How often will I need an air pump - would I need to carry it with me for an all day outing? - so would it be better to get jeep because it comes with one??

Has anyone used the safari for light jogging? I know the Jeep specifically says not intended for jogging.

Has anyone seen the Jeep in any Long Island stores?? The safari is listed on the buy buy baby website so I'm assuming they'll have it in the store.
Didn't see either at Babies R Us.

Thanks in advance for any help.

LOVE my Jeep! It comes with the air pump strapped on. The Safari also sounds great. I don't really think you can go wrong here. I chose the Jeep for the ENORMOUS amount of storage and the increased plushness of the seat, but it's really a coin-toss, I think.

I've attached links with descriptions of these two strollers.

Jeep: http://store.babycenter.com/product/gear/strollers/standard/4423

Safari: http://www.joggingstroller.com/brand/instep/safari.shtml

As you can see from the descriptions, the wheels are not the same. The Jeep has 3 11-inch wheels while the Safari has 2 16-inch rear wheels and a 12-inch front wheel.

I have the Safari. I just got it so I haven't used it extensively, but I don't think that you would need to fill the tires for an all day outing. It would be nice to have a pump included, though. The Safari's tires come partially deflated so you need a pump before you can use the stroller. :( I have not used the Safari for light jogging. I think that the front wheel seems secure when locked, but I'm not sure how it would be for jogging. Keep in mind that the Safari does not have a hand brake or a safety wrist strap, so certainly you couldn't do running or fast jogging with it.

Baby Depot also carries the Safari. I'm not sure where you can see the Jeep IRL.

Thanks for the info on the wheels. You would think I would have noticed that for as many times as I've looked at them online. Now I've just got to see them in person to decide.

Wal-Mart has the Jeep Liberty for $98.76. Much less than anywhere else. Perhaps you can see if the Wal-Mart in East Meadow (I think that's where it is?) has them in stock.
