How much are the free MBUD inserts really worth?

I have the opportunity to purchase a returned, in perfect condition MBUD for about $50 in savings. The inserts will not be included in this deal. Are the inserts really worth my spending $50 more or can I get some via another avenue? TIA! :)

I didn't get inserts with mine. I only need one because I only had one baby - the other child is older. I bought mine through some other place - can't remember where right now but lots of places carry them. Here's what I have.

Hi Deb :) Are you talking about the lambskin insert? I have one and it makes the stroller very comfy. I also heard that it makes the stroller cooler in summer, too. You can get it for a lower price if you do a little search. Gotta prepare breakfast for Maya now...will come back later :)

I have the first one. It's exactly the same as the one offered by MB (Bowron lambskin, I even called Bowron to double check). They had a lower price when I got mine, though.

Thanks! I guess I only need one since I will only have one baby. I don't think they are lambskin. They are the ones offered with purchase of a MBUD at arunningstroller.com. I really have no clue about this insert thing... I just hope that this stroller will fit into my car! LOL!

Thanks Kate. Wow. It looks like I may wait to buy a 2004 model and get the 2 free inserts for $529. The one available is $475 without inserts and is Navy. The savings isn't that great when you figure an insert runs about $50. Who did you order your MB from? What color did you end up with? :)

I got my MB from Baby Outfitters based on the recommendations on the board (A Running Stroller wasn't widely discussed at that time). It was a smooth transaction. They match prices and are very helpful. As far as the color is concerned, after several nights tossing and turning, I got the Grape and are very happy with it :) What color are you considering? It's a hard decision, isn't it?
