I posted this on the toddler board, but realized it should have been here...

After 4 1/2 years with a Combi 6100 Convenience stroller I snapped the handle off by mistake. We need advice on a new stroller but here is my situation. Don't really use a stroller much, a few times a month. Don't want to spend a lot of money (of course)!! Would like an adjustable handle like the Combi, I'm 5.2 dh is 6.2. Want one that is lightweight, but not an umbrella, dh sometimes needs the stroller for help walking, so a flimsy umbrella one wouldn't work. DD#2 is 18 months old now, so I don't need one with a car seat. Would like one with a basket, easy to push and folds up easily. I called Combi to see if they would do anything for me and they would sell me, at a 50% discount, either a Tetra or Savona but I don't need one for a car seat and those are what they consider "comparable" to a Convenience. I'm considering the Savona but now that I've looked online and found different ones, the Savona isn't really lightweight. I would consider buying one at a consignment store if it was what I needed, so if you have advice on a model that is a year or two old, please let me know. The Convenience really fulfilled my needs and would love to find a similar one. I'm not a stroller collector, we only have one other, a baby trend jogger, so it was overwhelming when I started to look at all the different options out there!!! Thanks for your help!!

The Peg Perego Aria is a lightweight stroller that is not an umbrella fold. Just a suggestion. You might try something like ebay or albee baby to see if they have any at a discounted price.

I just bought an Inglesina Espresso from Right Start for $100 (they're on clearance, so sales are final). It seems like it might fit your needs, but I'm not sure, because I haven't actually used it yet! :) The basket is a good size for me and the fold is amazingly easy. It has one handle instead of umbrella handles and the handle is adjustable. Someone did a comparison of the PP Aria and the Espresso and gave lots of information and pictures, but I can't find the web site right now. I'll try to update this post if I find it.

ETA: Here's the link to the aria/espresso comparison: http://www.freewebs.com/gamblindiva/

At Right Start, there is a limited stock and they only have the Espresso in navy. It's priced just under $100, and it looks like there's free shipping on orders over $100. I think there are a few baby proofing items on sale for $.98 that would bump your total over $100. I'm not positive about the shipping b/c I bought mine in person, but it's worth a shot. How about a Graco CitiLight for $60 or so?

Those are great ideas, and you can also try strollerswap for something used!

I called my local Right Start to inquire about the red(which they had one left, the floor model, and the clerk didn't know it was on sale until she put it in the computer) when I was asking specific questions about the Espresso the clerk told me the handle is not adjustable for different heights. She said it "swivels" but might not be a good choice if I'm looking for a comfortable stroller for both me and dh....what do you think??

Well, she's right about the handle swiveling, but by swiveling it, you make it shorter or taller... I still haven't used it yet other than wheeling DD around the house, but I didn't notice any problems when I had it at its highest. The handle sort of rotates, so when you put it up at the highest setting, the handle is closer to the stroller body than if it were lower. I didn't notice any problem with kicking the wheels, though, when it was at its highest setting. I can take some pictures so you can see if you'd like. It'll have to be after I put DD down for a nap in about an hour or so. I wish I had more real life experience with the stroller so I could tell you more!

Okay, let's see if I can actually embed some pictures here...

I took 4 pics. There's one with the highest handle position, one with the lowest locking handle position, and two positions that are somewhere in between.
