Hello...I am fairly new to this board and was thinking about how everyone on here seems to have 3+ strollers. I was wondering...with a newborn in our bugaboo and I'm about to purchase a Maclaren Techno Classic for an easier stroller...will this be all I need? Do you think that the Techno is a good alternative that is lightweight compared to the bugaboo? I'm hoping to purchase a stroller that has umbrella fold, reclines, covers well, and steers well one handed. I'm also hoping to just limit my collection to just two strollers (including the Bug.) What does everyone think of the Techno? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I like the Techno OK, but I really prefer the Quest.

I think you should be fine with those 2 strollers, unless you need something for long walks on rougher terrain- then I would look into a all terrain

How come you prefer the quest over the techno? I see that there are a lot of moms that feel the same way but I'm just not sure why??? Does the Techno have bigger wheels and better suspension than the Quest?

Honestly, I can't remember about the wheel size, and my techno is already boxed up waiting to go to it's new owner, when my ebay auction is over.

It just seems to push better, the techno also is alot taller, and we're a bunch of shorties over here, so tall isn't a good thing for us.

The padding is better on the Techno, as is the recline and the canopy- but the quest is lighter, and is so much easier to push IMO.

Kim, I'd agree with Jodi and opt for the Quest as well. As a Bug owner myself, I think the Techno would be overkill with the Bug. The Techno is pretty full-featured, and a better compliment to the Bug would be something significantly lighter, which the Techno is only lighter by 1-2 pounds. Granted, you can't use the Quest until 3+ months, and you can use the Techno much earlier.

I just bought a Quest Mod to replace my Bugaboo, as my pregnant belly is getting bigger. I LOVE the Quest and wish I had bought it sooner.

I think you'd do well with a Bugaboo + a Maclaren, and the only situation where you might want a third stroller would be if you or your husband are outdoors a lot and walk/jog. Then you'd probably want a 3-wheeler too, but for the occasional stroll outside, the Bug will be great.

I'm gonna break from the pack here...I like the Techno better. I have a Quest Mod and it's just not all that much in the wheel and recline, etc departments. Techno offers more quite a bit more for just a few pounds more. The wheels are bigger (6.5 vs 5)it has suspension!!!, etc. True it's more redundant to the Bug over a Quest, but I find for myself, being so used to mostly using "full-service" strollers, it's had for me to make do with less, I don't like to sacrifice.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I have seen the Quest IRL but have not seen the Techno. I think I will have to search for a place that carries both and do an IRL comparison but either way...I think I will be fine since they are both great strollers. Thanks again and Mariana...CONGRATS!!!!!!!

Yep, I'm breaking from the pack too. I just have not found a true "lightweight" that I like. I find the Quest's wheels too small and the recline and padding not sufficient. I think the Techno is a really nice alternative to it - very easy to push, easy/compact fold and still full featured, especially for the first year.

Best,
Mary

I would get the Quest too. Since you have the Bugaboo, the Techno is probably too much for your needs. The Quest is the best errand stroller IMO.
