View Full Version : If you could just have one, fairly lightweight stroller....

We have a Peg Perego P3 and a Bugaboo Chameleon. We do a great deal
of travelling and the P3 is just too heavy / bulky for in and out of
cars. We also plan to leave it in one of the two cities we commute
between as we are going to start using our car seat with the Go Go
Babyz wheels when we go back and forth. However, we need something
to travel with otherwise. We will likely check this stroller with
baggage and use it in a variety of cities with different types of
streets. I want something that has a full recline so my DD can nap
in it, preferably with great sun protection. An easy fold would be a
plus and, of course, lightweight if possible.

DH and I went and looked at the Maclaren Technos today and liked
them, but I thought I would ask here before we take the plunge. It
looks like there are some interesting options in Inglesina but not
sure how sturdy they are and how they will handle on bumpy
sidewalks / dirt paths (i.e. New York, Chicago).

I would greatly appreciate any and all advice on this purchase!

I have a Maclaren Techno and just bought a P3 last week. I had planned to sell the Techno since they are about the same weight, but I am having second thoughts. The fold on the Techno is less bulky and easier for me, and we have SO loved this stroller when we travel. We've taken it to NYC with no complaints at all. It has survived several plane flights, though we gate checked it. For some reason, it just sems lighter to me, perhaps because it is easier to steer than the P3.

I'd get a Mac of some type. We use the volo for travel and it is a breeze. .. also very sturdy. But, the volo has no recline, so I think the techno is a good choice. I think the Quest reclines, but maybe not fully. You can't go wrong with a Mac!

I'd get a Triumph. It's lightweight (12lb), has a carry strap, folds into nothing so easily even my DH can do it, and can carry up to 55lbs of kid. However, it doesn't have full recline, and the hood is ok, but not fantastic.

I would pick the Mac Quest. It has everything that the Techno has but it has smaller wheels so it folds smaller and it weighs less.

I agree with the Maclaren, I would get the quest.
