My $15 BRU umbrella that's 5 years old busted finally (seat ripped out, folding mechanism rusting, and the wheel fell off yesterday!) since it's not my main stroller, I hadn't gotten around to replacing the thing....today I went to BRU and checked out their selection. I brought my kids: 5 yr old 40 lb-er, 3 yr old 30 lb-er, and 2 yr old 25 lb-er. I put each of them in each stroller that interested me. I would mostly be using it for the 2 yr old, the other 2 mostly ride their bikes or walk wherever we are. I used the umbrella for quick walks around the neighborhood, and to throw in the car. I have a double jogger I love, but sometimes it's just TOO big.

Here's the ones I tried out:

This one seemed kind of cheap, and was more difficult to steer. Handlebar was kind of low (I'm not even 5ft tall, so I don't really care, but my dh is well over 6ft and he hates most little strollers)

Looked nice, but seemed kind of narrow and a little bit frail....It was harder to maneuver than the others.

The volo, besides looking cool, was nice, seemed sturdy, steered well. It felt and handled the same as the chicco capri, but the capri was $40 less.....the folding mechanism also bugged me- it's a bit complicated.

Also tried this one:

They even had one marked down to $89, which was very tempting, but again, I had a hard time collapsing and setting it up.

The Chicco c5- very nice, a little heavier than I wanted. But at 14 lbs, not really heavy at all.

Finally, the one I got (I love aqua!)

I picked the capri because: 1. It's really light- 11 lbs of aluminum. 2. It has a basket, though measley, it's better than the last umbrella. 3. It steered well, easy to maeuver, even with my 5 year old in it (who is too heavy for it, really, but I was just curious) 4. It was the least expensive, nicest one they had- felt the same to me as the $100+ maclarens, sturdy but light.

Those were my thoughts- I'm wondering if there is a big quality difference between the Maclarens and the Chiccos? The Maclarens seem to be more highly rated everywhere....I don't want one that's going to fall apart like the cheapo I had before. But I didn't really want to spend much if there wasn't a really good reason....

Any helpful observations on this stroller or suggestions would be very much appreciated- I still haven't take it out of the house, so there is time to change my mind!

I would just check the weight limit. We bought a chicco stroller- i think it was the older model capri last year. The weight limit is 33 lbs which avi has been for 4 months. It depends how fast your children gain weight and where you want to use the stroller. It was fine indoors but not so good outside.

Thanks for the tip....it says 37 lbs, which for one of my kids is about 4 yrs old, so we should be good there!
