So, Luke will be 3 years, 8 months when the new baby arrives. I'm not using our P3 for errands with Luke anymore, since he's fairly good at staying with me, but we do use it for longer trips into the city (such as the zoo). I considered not even getting a double, but I can't imagine having ds ride on the step of the P3 all of the time. What have you all done who have kiddos with a wider age range?

I was considering maybe a Mac Twin Rally, the Jane Powertwin, or the Baby Jogger City Series Twin. Any recs?

I am thinking the same thing. I am pg and DD is almost 3. She is a VERY slow walker.

I am planning on getting an E-3 to use for her now to replace my Graco jogger, and then use it as a double when baby comes. If I find myself using a double all the time at the mall and such I might pick up a used Maclaren TT or Inglesia TS off ebay or swap as well. I figure it will get use eventually since we want at least three kids!

I think the E-3 is great for "sort of need a double" situations.

My boys are 3 years, 5 months apart and we never use a double stroller. I have a Peg Venezia that I love (reversible handle and footstep usable when seat is reclined - unlike the P3) and use almost exclusively. If DS1 is really tired (rarely happens), he can always ride in the Venezia and Logan in a sling or in our arms. But usually the footstep is adequate.

Joy,
I hadn't really considered the E-3 before, but I think I'm going to have to look into it more now. Thanks for the suggestion! I think that "sort of need a double" really describes our situation well. :)

Lori,

Thanks for giving me some insight. I know my dh will not spring for another single stroller, so I think that if I get anything, it will have to be a double. I have been admiring the Venezia, though! :) It looks so comfy and cozy for the baby. And while Luke usually just walks for short errands, there are times when I have to have him restrained and buckled in, for his own safety. (Or if we need to move quickly...) Maybe I'll look for something off of swap.

how about a Dreamer Ditto Manhatten lite?? at 300 bucks it's considerably cheaper than a Mtn buggy or Baby Jogger AND it should accomodate an older child well!
