Hi, all -

I am in the process of adopting a baby girl from Vietnam (in fact, will be traveling next week to get her!). I just purchased a Peg Perego Pliko 3. I really like it, except for the harness. A friend helped me assemble it tonight, and it seems that the harness just slips into the back seat of the stroller (the part which the baby's torso leans against). There is nothing to secure this part to the fabric; it can easily slip out. This seems really flimsy.

Am I doing something wrong? I really like all other aspects of the P3 (even though I haven't used it yet).

I'd appreciate advice from other P3 users. Thanks in advance!

Anne,

IMO, the harness is one of the best features of the P3...especially with a toddler. Your baby can move around a bit more and still be strapped in.

It is totally safe and DS doesn't mind being strapped in since he has room to wiggle.

HTH!

It's a floating harness. It is only attached to the tab on the back for storage or when getting it on your DD. Otherwise, it shouldn't be attached to the back at all. It keeps baby secure in the stroller while allowing freedom to lean forward, as many like to lean forward and hold onto the snack bar. It's different from other strollers, in a good way!

Another vote to say that we LOVE our floating harness! DD would go crazy if I strapped her into any other type, I think. :) She is always leaning forward to hold onto the snack tray and peeking around the side of the stroller to see the action going by. I think you will grow to love that aspect of the harness - after your DD is sitting well, especially. Congratulations and have a safe trip!

I posted a question like this last year when we started using our P3. I was confused about it too. I can say that I really like the floating harness and how it allows DS to sit up at the snack tray or turn his upper body around to see what he wants to see. Congratulations to you on bringing home your daughter next week!

Congrats!!!! Another Peg lover. The floating harness offers the freedom to lean forward, hold on, etc. of a 3 pt with the safety of a 5 point. It definitely takes a bit of getting used to for a parent, but I think most children enjoy the bit of freedom it offers, especially if they are a biut older and not usually stroller riders.

Great news...good luck on your trip...

I also love the floating harness. I usually attach it to the seat for when I put DD in the stroller. She loves to be able to lean whereever she wants.

Good luck...
